The Jefferson County Food Bank Association consists of four food banks: Brinnon, Quilcene , Tri-Area and Port Townsend.
The association is the largest and the only in Washington State that manages and serves all county food banks under one umbrella.
The association also assists in providing food to the Hoh and Queet Reservation Food Banks in West Jefferson County.
JCFBA is an all-volunteer organization.
It is managed by a board of directors and consists of a manager for each food bank plus a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and members at large.
Jefferson County has been exceptionally generous in their support of the food banks:
Each year in October the ministerial association of Jefferson County sponsors the W.A.V.E. Folks bring food and money to selected churches.
Mail carriers have a food drive each year.
Churches and other organizations in the county hold fund raisers all year.
The Port Townsend Food Bank is supplied with fresh produce from the Port Townsend Food Bank Gardens.
Food is received from Food Lifeline, Northwest Harvest and Temporary Emergency Food Assistance program.
Jefferson County Food Bank Association serves county residents by providing food to those in need, in an equitable manner, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, ethnic origin, religious affiliation, or mental or physical handicap, while maintaining an attitude and atmosphere that recognizes the dignity of each individual.
